Pagoda / Jojakkoji Temple
The Pagoda, located within the precincts of Jojakkoji Temple, was built in 1620 (Genna 6) in the early Edo period (1603-1868). It is a beautiful structure with a 12-meter-high, multilayered hogakko structure with a hiwadabuki roof. Inside, Shakyamuni Nyorai and Dabon Nyorai are enshrined, and an imperial inscription, “Namisonkaku,” in Emperor Reigen's Imperial Handwriting, hangs from the top. The pagoda was designated as a National Important Cultural Property in 1915.
