Dainichidō Hall / To-ji Temple

Dainichidō Hall of To-ji Temple is the newest building on the temple grounds and was originally built in the Edo period as a place of worship for the Mikado. Later, it was used as a sanbaito to house the tablets of Emperor Kanmu, Emperor Saga, and Ashikaga Takauji, and was further called Dainichi-do when Dainichi Nyorai was made the principal deity of the temple.
