Arashiyama Station / Arashiyama
Arashiyama Station is the terminus of the Keifuku Electric Railway (Randen) Arashiyama Main Line. It is located in the center of Arashiyama, one of Kyoto's most popular tourist destinations, and is visited by many tourists. It is about 12 minutes away from Arashiyama Station on the Hankyu Railway Arashiyama Line of the same name and is not suitable for transferring trains. For this reason, the station is sometimes called “Randen Arashiyama Station” to distinguish it from the other stations. The station has three head-end platforms with three tracks, and track 1 is mainly used. Users can enjoy the footbath regardless of whether they are using the train by purchasing a ticket with a towel for a fee. Also on the premises is the commercial facility “Arashiyama Station Hanri-Hokkori Square,” which includes souvenir shops and restaurants. In addition, approximately 600 acrylic poles called “Kimono Forest,” which are made of yuzen transparent with LEDs, have been installed around the platform, creating a fantastic atmosphere at night.
