The front gate of Daikakuji Temple is a wooden gabled, hon-tile-roofed gate built in the early Edo period. The gate is said to have been moved from a part of Kameyama Castle where Mitsuhide Akechi resided. For this reason, it is a frequent location for filming of period dramas and other productions.
