Northeastern gate torii / Yasaka Shrine

The northeastern gate torii of Yasaka Shrine is cherished as a symbol of the shrine. In 1913, due to the opening of the streetcar line and the expansion of Shijo Street, it was moved 6 meters east and 3 meters north so that it could be seen from the center of the street. Additionally, the approximately 100 lanterns in the shrine precincts were donated mainly by the shops in the Gion area. When lit at night, they create a magical atmosphere. Yasaka Shrine, with its beautiful architecture and spiritual benefits, is also recommended as a tourist attraction.
