Okumiya / Fushimi Inari Taisha
Like the main shrine, the Okumiya of Fushimi Inari Taisha is a special shrine dedicated to the deity Inari, and was called “Kamigoden” in ancient times. The current shrine pavilion was built during the Tensho period and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property. The Okumiya shrine is located halfway along the path leading from the main shrine building to the Senbon-torii, and can be reached by visitors in about three minutes from the main shrine building. The shrine is built in the Nagare-zukuri style, with a beautifully curved roof. Like the main shrine, Okumiya's deity is Inari, and it is considered a separate shrine from its regent and branch shrines.
