

Seijoin / Kiyomizu-dera
Seijoin is one of the pagodas attached to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto, and is especially known for its garden. The garden is said to have been created by Aami, a renga poet and gardener of the Muromachi period (1336-1573). Originally the garden was part of the Akamatsu family's villa, and was later inherited by Seijoin. This garden is designated as a national historic site of scenic beauty and is highly regarded for its beauty and historical value.
